ABOUT THE ARTIST
My emotions guide my work. I pour and spread paint at random until a texture or abstract visual conjures a memory, feeling, or story. When I’ve found direction, I work until I am stuck. Then I give myself time and space, putting the story in the periphery of my subconscious until more ideas bubble to the surface. I try to stay open to experimenting with interesting paper elements, new materials, and textures to add to the canvas.
ABOUT THE ART
I am a mixed-media abstract painter. I use combinations of materials, including acrylic paint, coffee, paper, and graphite. I layer paint, add collage, make marks, scratch, and sand to get interesting textures.
