ABOUT THE ARTIST
As a child and young adult in art school, I loved drawing but I majored in graphic design. My second career in painting was fortuitous and my approach to fine art is shaped by my 30 years in design and advertising. I'm grateful for this shift and enjoy sharing my creations with viewers.
My painting style is realistic, but at closer look, the viewer can see brushstrokes and underlying colors peaking through. Weird reflections, complicated highlights, unexpected colors in shadows and soft and hard edges excite me! Layer after layer of paint brings the canvas and objects to life.
ABOUT THE ART
Lively realistic still lifes invite the viewer into my world. Larger-than-life paintings are designed with a fresh perspective, highlighting the quirkiness in everyday pop culture. Often focused on metal, glass and food, the compositions purposely break rules of conventionality.
