ABOUT THE ARTIST
I've always been interested in pattern and texture, whether rendered in a piece or as a product of the process itself. I also like exploring the border between the literal and the abstract. My choice of subject and materials (paint and oil pastel), has given me room for that exploration, and my continued pursuit in that regard seems to be becoming my life's work in painting.
ABOUT THE ART
These mixed-media pieces are oil paint and oil pastel on canvas. Generally, the work starts with thin layers of oil paint, and subsequent layers of oil pastels, adding drawing elements and texture.
