ABOUT THE ARTIST

I am intrigued by how light in a landscape can both reveal and obscure form. Along with weather it sets the mood of a piece, be it dramatic, threatening, mysterious, or soothing. While the landscape is my motif, it is light and its myriad expressions that is my true subject.

ABOUT THE ART

Imagined landscapes are created in oil paint without the use of photos or studies. Using opaque and transparent layers to create color, depth and mood, I seek a transcendent quality of light.
