ABOUT THE ARTIST
I'm fortunate to live in my great grandmother's house, on my family's farm in southeastern Virginia. Our farm, and surrounding coastal area, is the focus of my work along with the occasional local wildlife.
My process includes capturing my own reference material, usually on the farm, and painting back in my studio. Other times I create a scene from my mind, do a small pencil sketch first, and go from there.
I’m pretty quick…painting all of my pieces in 1-2 sittings, with a brush and palette knife. My subject matter focuses on light, texture, and a vibrant color palette. While the scenes themselves are quiet, they are dynamic in design.
