Christine Schub

Amelia Island

My earliest memory is working with crayons making designs on the cardboard inserts from Dad's shirts. One day I put my art aside and earned an M.A. in Psychology..but the Muse kept pulling me aside .I quit my job, went to the Washington Square Art Show, sold all my paintings and never looked back.

I love working with my oil paints on stretched canvas or linen or primed masonite. I begin with only a sense of color I want to use but with no preconceived notion...just a lean wash of paint flowing onto the surface opening up the doorway to my imagination letting the images emerge and take shape.
