ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and have an MFA from Syracuse University. I had only shown my work in galleries and museums until I happened upon the Rittenhouse Square show. The overall quality of the work I saw there made me want to be a part of it.
ABOUT THE ART
My current grid based process began as a quilt designing method inspired by the quiltmakers of Gee's Bend, Alabama and by Amish quilts. Quilts are no longer in the mix but the process has allowed me to investigate a wide variety visual possibilities, from the ridiculous to the sublime.
