ABOUT THE ARTIST

My work is informed by my interest in native gardening, insects and birds. I work with woodcut and Japanese stencil dyeing. I started painting while living in Japan. I then went to the Pa Academy of the Fine Arts. I work in my Philadelphia studio as well as in Maryland across from Assateague Is.

ABOUT THE ART

I paint and make collages using several traditional Japanese techniques, including Japanese stencil dyeing, woodcut, and use of a soy-based binder for pigments. I work on Rives BFK and mulberry paper.
