ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was raised by an artist in Bethesda, Md. who operated a busy printmaking studio in our home. I attended PAFA and, after graduation, traveled to Kyoto on a scholarship to study katazome and woodcut. I draw the figure weekly, teach workshops frequently, and exhibit often.
ABOUT THE ART
My current subjects are birds, rabbits and gardens. I use a mixed media process, peeling the paper down to the pigment layer so the collages are smooth and use transparencies. I also use paint and pigments with a soy-based binder. I use a lot of "process" but the work looks fresh and spontaneous.
