ABOUT THE ARTIST
I began my first career here in Philadelphia as an environmental attorney for the US EPA. I only stayed for 3 years, but have fond memories of the art show. I eventually left the law and became a furniture maker, collaborated with my husband in concrete, and finally fell in love with encaustic.
ABOUT THE ART
Encaustic on wood panels, using oil, graphite, dry pigments, plant material and paper to create depth and texture. Using a torch, I build up layer after layer of paint, fusing each to the layer below.
