ABOUT THE ARTIST

A child of immigrant parents who left war-torn Holland, I explore stories of loss and hope, courage and strength. In my work, I use textile, metal, stones and stitching. These elements are gathered and juxtaposed to make a visual poem that invites connection with ancient wisdom and diverse stories.

ABOUT THE ART

Copper, textiles and acrylic on canvas are cut, sculpted and juxtaposed with stones, piano hammers and other found objects, creating a 3-dimensional assemblage which is contemporary in composition yet reminiscent of ancient forms. Mounted in a museum-quality shadow box frame.
