ABOUT THE ARTIST
I began painting as a child. I continued with a college degree, then became a free-lance artist, illustrator, art teacher, but always a painter. Working first in watercolor and now acrylics, which I enjoy for their versatility.
ABOUT THE ART
A complementary underpainting on Gessobord or canvas. Shapes are blocked with thin layers of paint. Followed by thicker opaque layers of paint, developing the push and pull of color, light, and shadow. Bits of the underpainting are allowed to show through creating interesting visual passages.
