ABOUT THE ARTIST
Betsy Best is a printmaker from Michigan. After working years as a graphic artist, she turned her focus to a studio practice, and studied printmaking at university, with further studies in Florence, Italy and Awaji, Japan. She did this all while raising three children, who inspire her continually.
ABOUT THE ART
Relief printmaking has been my primary medium for almost three decades. Using a pattern, color, line, and a personal visual vocabulary, I examine the familial constructs, and the meaning of home. Some of my inspirations include athletics, fashion, textiles, ceramics, and architecture.
