Born in Mexico City and raised near the beach in Cancun, my Mexican identity is essential to my art. My painting explores the relationships between color shape and geometric patterns that we find in the history and architecture of our civilizations

The most important aspect of all my work is color. Although lines and patterns convey order and a consistency of process, the brushstrokes are secondary. I experiment with color relentlessly, both with individual shades and very specific combinations. I want my colors to evoke joy
