ABOUT THE ARTIST
Carolyn Shattuck ,born in Montreal, Canada, moved to the United States in 1971. She and her husband lived in Okinawa, Japan where she became influenced by the history and beauty of the Japanese prints . Upon returning to the United States she studied painting at Bard College.
ABOUT THE ART
"I select an object, got rid of the table. I put the object in space, minus perspective, minus anything to hold it there". My works on Paper are a complex arrangement of overlapping objects defining and merging into space.I portray meaningful objects in a deconstructed space.
