ABOUT THE ARTIST
I grew up in the south. My education in art followed a degree in psychology and sociology with graduate work in ceramic sculpture. Then a corporate career to make ends meet returning to art through painting. I chose painting because of its immediacy.
ABOUT THE ART
My approach to painting evolved during more than a decade of making clay sculpture. My paintings, made on primed linen or on panel focus on the potency of color; provide surprise in an environment of equilibrium; and engross the viewer who notices the subtle nuances that inhabit the field.
