ABOUT THE ARTIST
Darren Jones is a Chicago based artist who captures natural beauty in his paintings which awaken emotion and a sense of humanity. Born in Canada, he is a self-taught artist who enjoys working in acrylic, oil and mixed mediums on canvas or wood panels.
ABOUT THE ART
A unique combination of beach sand, recycled wood, shredded paper fibers, industrial staples, ink and plaster are used with an emotive color palette of acrylic paints. A variety of techniques are used, such as using both hands to apply the paint with almost no brush or palette knife work applied.
