ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jay Kim is a patina artist, pursuing a passion for his own style of combining patina with engraving. Jay was attracted to the golden color of brass, a symbol of transcendent dimension, and developed his technique while he was accessory designer. He was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea.
ABOUT THE ART
I create color and patterns on brass using a torch or mineral salts solution then I engrave with Dremel on the chosen theme, revealing the untarnished golden brass hidden beneath the dramas of colors and patterns from patina. To me, it symbolizes the beauty of our true being we all share within us.
