ABOUT THE ARTIST
I grew up in the north-woods of Wisconsin. My father, being an avid outdoorsman, shared his passion for hunting and fishing with his family. As he hunted, I dreamed. The forests and hills became the backdrop for my imagination. As an artist I explore that balance of felt connection and imagination.
ABOUT THE ART
My art is an exploration of the interplay of nature and imagination through the vehicle of painting. I often start my paintings on site- getting a strong grounding in the sense of place. Then I bring my canvas back to my studio where the painting takes on a life of its own.
