ABOUT THE ARTIST
Raised in the Chadds Ford Pa and the Greenville DE area, I was surrounded by nature and the Wyeth family of artists, who inspire me to this day. I spent my childhood summers on an island off the coast of Maine and now living on the Eastern Shore of Va, I am constantly drawn to the coastal landscape.
ABOUT THE ART
Artist Kate Meyer approaches her work by Inventing from nature, I like to be spontaneous. By abstracting the forms I try to create a sense of mood and atmosphere. She combines a variety of textures and shapes blended with quick brush strokes to achieve a sense of place within the painting.
