ABOUT THE ARTIST

I have worked as an interior designer for the past 40 years, the last few years I have developed a passion for working with clay. Its tactile qualities appeal to my core senses. The direction of my body of work allows for playfulness, a journey into my imagination, and a willingness to share those ideas with the viewer. It allows for an unconventional way of working with clay…always pushing the boundaries of the medium. Spontaneity and trying to loosely control the image as it is being created is always my focus. In August of 2019, I traveled to England to attend a 3 day workshop in Lazenby England with a master potter. This trip has further helped to inform my body of work.

ABOUT THE ART

All pieces are made of mid range stoneware and hand built and sculpted. Multiple layers of colored slips and underglazes are applied. Molten beeswax is applied and polished to finish each piece for a unique patinated finish.
