ABOUT THE ARTIST

I have never known a normal job. Starting out selling on venice beach boardwalk was the most unique and best place to start. It has been 7 years and now working out of Dallas, I have been able to grow and expand my work and my creativity. Seeing people feel and inquire about each record makes me appreciate making the art. People love seeing songs they grew up with, or the memory associated with the song. That really makes me feel like my work has meaning. I use a wood burning tool to carve the records. When I use the wood burning tool to melt through the records, it creates toxic gases that I have to wear a full face respirator and exhaust system. This is why most people don't attempt to mess with the vinyl records. Some of the large pieces can take over 50 records, I am constantly scouring used records and taking years to find records for one of a kind pieces. That's why each piece is so unique and can take a while just to find exactly what I need.

ABOUT THE ART

Finding beat up, unplayable, and hard to find records. I create a layered stack of vinyl records using adhesive, heat, 200lbs. Then use a wood burning tool to carve each piece, mounted on a white wood panel.
