ABOUT THE ARTIST
I got my start as a patina artist in fine art foundries doing patinas on other artist bronze sculptures. I have adapted this technique to my own copper wall art, which I now do full time. My pieces can be viewed similar to paintings, but are created through a dangerous and “scientific” process.
ABOUT THE ART
I create abstract patinas directly on copper using a propane torch and unique chemical mixtures. The copper's edges are folded at a 90-degree angle, allowing for depth, and can be hung like a canvas. Each piece is finished with lacquer and paste wax to protect and prevent future oxidation.
