When I start a piece, I may have a basic framework in mind, but it's really just a point of entry. Decisions are made on the fly. The next step is determined by the previous until I have something that I can't bear to alter any further - some perfectly imperfect object with its own personality.
ABOUT THE ART
I start with a thick texture pattern and let it dry and harden overnight. Then I scrape my colors over the texture pattern in different directions with rigid tools, leaving voids and color patterns where the texture interrupts the spread of acrylic where the tool can't reach the canvas.
