ABOUT THE ARTIST

I am an artist who thinks of myself as a storyteller. My images are vignettes from life's smallest moments. Sometimes these small moments are overlooked . They are what truly inspires me. That morning cup of coffee, a conversation with a good friend, and having the time to read a good book are some of life's greatest joys. I choose fabric as my palette, believing that the fibers and textures are literally and figuratively the interwoven components that symbolize life itself. Utilizing vintage fabrics, recycled, and hand dyed , cotton and silk are my predominant palette. Knowing that the fabrics had one life before they are given a new life in my work is inspirational.

ABOUT THE ART

Textile collage using upcycled and vintage fabrics; hand cut, layered and sewn. The cloth is interwoven literally and symbolically as we all have frayed edges and messy seams. The imagery is from my sketches, celebrating small moments of life and our individual relationships to the landscape.
