ABOUT THE ARTIST

My art is, first and foremost, an act of gratitude. I am compelled to express the magical improbability – and absolute joy - of my own existence: created out of love, I am called to do the same.
As a colorist and expressive painter, I explore the ever-changing interplay of hue, shape, form and composition. My paintings tell me their stories as they evolve, layer by layer, mimicking the transitions and transformations each of us encounter as we navigate the circumstances of our lives.
Resolving the problems that naturally occur in the creation of expressive abstract art is, I believe, somehow making me a better person. That inspires me to keep coming back to the easel.

ABOUT THE ART

I use intensely pigmented professional acrylics and a variety of implements, especially palette knives and large brushes. Work is highly layered and enhanced with mark-making techniques and glazing.
