ABOUT THE ART
I apply layered acrylic paints and heavy shaping medium over stretched cotton canvas. I use bold colors and asymmetric abstract compositions, with metal-edged tools. I use no brushes. My style is best described as controlled abstraction.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
As an abstract artist, I'm inspired by bold color, light, shadow, and texture. Some of my inspiration is found in nature, and some is found in city settings. I love unpredictability in my work, letting chance emerge within a very deliberate process. In this process, I use metal tools only to apply multiple layers of shaping medium and paint. This technique naturally gives my paintings a lot of depth and presence, which my collectors greatly value.
