ABOUT THE ART
Oil on canvas landscape paintings of rural/coastal Virginia featuring scenes of artist's family farm. Completed in 1-2 sittings, in a limited palette of primaries and white.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I'm fortunate to live on my great grandparents farm in Virginia, which presents itself in a lot of my work. Some of the farm scenes echo back to memories of my grandfather during my childhood. There's a heavy emphasis on light/shadow and calculated composition, both making the works more dynamic. Critters often show up in my scenes as "easter eggs". Living in a hunting area, I'm a firm believer these animals have a right to live alongside us peacefully.
