My monoprints are created using collagraph plates and various materials. These are combined and printed in multiple layers on archival paper.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
My work has a natural vernacular and innate connection to nature, it conveys a thoughtful intuitive balance between color, texture and tactile rhythms. The viewer is invited to look closer and be transported into layers of unexpected repetitions of organic shapes in an ethereal atmosphere.
My monoprints are created using collagraph plates and various materials. These plates are constructed with modeling paste, string, palm hair, fabric, paper, wallpaper, wood, gloss medium and gel medium. I will use the collagraph plates as backgrounds for pieces or to transfer images to cut shapes of paper. These are combined with various diverse inked materials then printed in multiple layers on 100% cotton handmade archival paper. The resulting original image is the only one of its kind and cannot be reproduced.
