About the ART
My oil paintings are painting directly from life. I paint what I have set up in front of me. I use oil on linen and also gessoed panels. I am drawn to items with patina which I can match with others to create a narative.

About the ARTIST
I came to oil painting late in life after a 21 year career with the New York City Fire department. I found a new tribe of delightful people when I left the fire department which was a very close knit community. I have an intense appreciation and love for the process of creating oil paintings. Having seen so much destruction in my previous career has given me a true and deep appreciation for the beauty and privelage of creating and seeing beautiful art.
