About the ART
I paint with oil and cold wax medium on wood panels using a palette knife and other mark making tools to create texture and layers using fish imagery and the bowls and bags that contain them. I seal my paintings with a layer of clear wax and buff to a satin sheen when dry.

About the ARTIST
I paint fish in unusual circumstances with oil and cold wax medium.
My art appears light and sweet on the surface, but beneath the waxy layers and scratchy texture lies deeper themes of loneliness and struggle. The fish I paint are an exploration and expression of my journey with chronic Lyme disease. Fish depicted in bags or bowls, balancing on rocks, and in unexpected circumstances, represent so many aspects of living in a chronically difficult situation. My work expresses the isolation and limitations experienced at times, but also represents resilience, hopefulness and possibility, a reminder that you can do hard things and that you are stronger than know…just keep swimming.
