Amanda Outcalt

Washington DC

ABOUT THE ARTIST

My work is inspired by my personal experiences in relationships and parenthood. There are some reoccurring more universal themes as well including climate change. Threads represent connections and relationships in my work, balloons represent memories, and all my animals have individual symbolism.

ABOUT THE ART

I create intaglio etchings and cut them out by hand with a saw. When printed, the etchings are embossed into the paper. After printing I paint, draw, and stitch, gold leaf, and collage on my work.
