ABOUT THE ART

Starting with a graphite sketch of the land-water formation, I build thin layers with bold brushwork in oil to achieve a luminosity. I'm not concerned about the location but the feeling of place.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I am surrounded by marshes and waterways- that's inspiring. I'm pretty much a purist when it comes to painting- just oil on canvas- no tricks. People find a calm haven in my work -something we all need. That keeps me going.
