ABOUT THE ARTIST
We are inspired by the invisible worlds around us. Working with dye plants allows us to express the beauty of unnoticed plant signatures and energies. We are further inspired by the work of Anne Besant (1901) in her exploration of “thought forms,” or the way focussed thoughts physically manifest.
ABOUT THE ART
Our work, influenced in part by Frankenthaler’s soak stain technique, is created by dipping folded canvases in consecutive flower dye baths, blending layers of thinned pigments to create vibrating images. The pieces strive to reflect the life energy of the dye plants harvested for this work.
